Healthcare Show Expected to Attract 7,000 Visitors
THE 11th South-East Asian Healthcare Show 2006 to be held in Kuala Lumpur in April is expected to draw about 7,000 visitors.
The healthcare show, with over 100 exhibitors from 15 different countries such as the US, Switzerland, Italy, India and China, will focus on the healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical beauty segments.
Held annually in Malaysia and aimed at trade and professional visitors, the exhibition offers opportunities for global networking among manufacturers, distributors and importers.
“Last year, there were some 4,000 visitors and as per past year, about 75 per cent of them have strong purchasing influence. They gained in terms of quality contacts as well as learning about the latest technology in the industry. The feedback was good,” ABC Exhibitions international sales director S. Singh Bhullar said in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
He said a lot of efforts were put into attracting Indonesians to the trade show because of the vast healthcare market in that country based on its huge population.
The healthcare show will be held from April 26 to 28 at the KL Convention Centre. Some 12 Malaysian firms will be participating in the show, including Clara International, Hospitech Marketing Sdn Bhd and Malaysian Chemical Engineering Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd.
The event is supported by government bodies, trade associations and embassies. They include the Ministry of Health, the Malaysian Organisation of Pharmaceutical Industries, Malaysian Industrial Development Authority, Malaysian External Trade Development Corp, the American Embassy and the British High Commission.
