The National Medical Association's Seventh National Colloquium on African American Health to Convene

What: The National Medical Association's (NMA) seventh National Colloquium on African American Health will convene some of the nation's most prominent medical practitioners, scholars and state legislators from around the country to discuss the status, recommendations and outcomes for improving health of African Americans.

This year's Colloquium will focus on Evidence Based Medicine, Pay for Performance and the projected impact on Physician Practice; Evidence BasedHealthcare: Translating Evidence into Healthier lives; Cardiovascular Disease; HIV/AIDS; Medicare Part D; and Legislative Advocacy.

Scheduled participants include: Mark McClellan, M.D., Administrator, CMS; Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele, State of Maryland; Doris Brown, M.D., Director, Breast & Gynecological Research, National Cancer Institute; Raymond Wynn, M.D., Associate Director, University of Alabama Cancer Research Institute; Vivian Pinn, M.D., Director, Office of Research on Women's Health, NIH; John Agqwunobi, M.D., Assistant Secretary for Health of HHS, Garth Graham, M.D., Deputy Secretary for Minority Health, HHS; Stuart Guterman, The Commonwealth Fund; Lena O'Rouke, Families USA; The Honorable Mary Coleman, President, National Black Caucus of State Legislators; and Sandra Gadson, President, National Medical Association and others.
