Posted on: Monday, 13 March 2006, 09:01 CST
Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States is implementing ikaSystems' Sales and Admin Portal technology as a total solution for its individual business. ikaSystems' robust technology platform connects brokers and consumers through an automated application process that includes web-based health insurance quote generation, online application submission, and back-end support for medical underwriting.
"We are excited to expand our online capabilities with ikaSystems. This partnership will give our applicants access to the next level of customer service and enhance their ability to compare our plans in order to make informed health care choices," explains Thomas A. Curtin, vice president of marketing, strategy and business development.
The ikaSystems platform will enable Kaiser Permanente to increase sales of their individual product and decrease administrative costs associated with manual health insurance application processing.
Through the Sales portal, brokers can access critical information online in real-time and respond faster to customers' needs to see dynamic views of health insurance options, which is imperative for success in today's marketplace. Brokers can direct consumers to Kaiser Permanente's consumer portal, where consumers can compare plans and apply for coverage online. This directed approach enables brokers to channel business toward Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States' consumer portal. Consumers can then compare plans and apply for coverage online.
Integrating the consumer and broker pieces of the application process provides online collaboration, which will increase consumer interest in Kaiser Permanente's offerings and increase sales. Administrative costs will decrease as well.
