Priority Health Implements Cave Consulting Group's Marketbasket System

Priority Health, a nationally recognized health plan, has licensed Cave Consulting Group's (CCGroup) Marketbasket System(TM) software to support its efforts to make healthcare costs and services even more transparent to its members. The CCGroup Marketbasket System is a nationally recognized accurate, accepted, and actionable software system for reporting medical condition services and costs.

"One of Priority Health's goals is to make life easier by providing personalized, actionable information to members when they need it," stated Dr. John Fox, Medical Director for Priority Health. "Our members often have little access to independent, objective information on the cost of medical care for health problems or treatment options. Priority Health wants to change this, and help members make more informed healthcare decisions."

A key component of this transparency effort is the accurate and reliable reporting of medical condition process of care measures. "The CCGroup Marketbasket System is designed to reduce common case mix and statistical issues for many medical care process of care methodologies," stated Dr. Douglas Cave, President of CCGroup. "Recent research shows that many measurement methods have difficulty in accurately identifying condition-specific process of care measures and the less efficient and effective physicians. The CCGroup Marketbasket System method and software allows our health plan clients to more accurately and reliably identify efficient and effective physician practice patterns," said Dr. Cave.

The goal of these initiatives is to help Priority Health members make more informed healthcare decisions and improve their health status.

The CCGroup Marketbasket System examines medical condition, episodes of care that are formed using the Cave Grouper(TM).
