Golden Harvest Health Foods and Natural Health Center is preparing for its grand opening.

The shop operates near Office Max in the outer ring of Spring Hill Mall in West Dundee.

Anita Hord and her daughter, Mindy Hord, own and operate the business that moved to the current location about four months ago.

"We needed a bigger space," Mindy said. They operated at the corner of Route 31 and Huntley since 1999 when the family purchased the business.

Mindy said they now operate what they say is the largest healthy food store in Kane County.

In keeping with their motto of "healing the body and nourishing the spirit," they offer a large selection of vitamins, herbs, teas, homeopathics and organic and specialty foods.

They also offer items to create a peaceful home environment from wind chimes to fountains to music to natural incense.

Golden Harvest also offers treatments in massage therapy, reiki, energy healing, hypnotherapy, acupressure, reflexology, meditation, aromatherapy, nutritional counseling and more. Yoga and meditation classes are also offered.

The April 7 grand opening will feature food samples and access health care professionals to talk about the treatments.
