Orlando Orthopaedic Center Goes Paperless

Posted on: Tuesday, 21 March 2006, 12:01 CST

ORLANDO, Fla., March 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Today, Orlando Orthopaedic Center announced that it has successfully completed the implementation of its electronic health record (EHR) system. Recipient of Florida Medical Business's 2004 "Best Orthopaedic Practice" award, Orlando Orthopaedic Center and its 14 physicians will use the Workflow EHR system at all five of its locations in order to further enhance the patient experience.

"The physicians and staff of Orlando Orthopaedic Center are committed to providing state of the art healthcare to our patients and with this system, our time and energy can be spent on making medical decisions and caring for our patients instead of shuffling paper," said Bill Hart, Executive Director of Orlando Orthopaedic Center. "Workflow EHR is a leading clinical software solution used by physician practices and small hospitals across the country and we chose this specific system because it was easy to implement and provided the tools we needed to move beyond a paper-based practice."

Workflow EHR is a fully customizable electronic health record system that allows healthcare providers to securely and efficiently manage their patient documentation. Through its exclusive HyperForms(TM) technology, Workflow EHR converts the physician's own paper-based forms into a digital format. Patient data, such as treatment notes and prescription orders, can be entered via handwriting, typed text or dictation. By capturing the information directly into the digital record, healthcare providers eliminate duplicate work and ensure accuracy. In addition, Workflow EHR can be integrated with any existing practice management system, a benefit that Orlando Orthopaedic Center found very valuable.

"We are extremely happy with how the project has gone and through their valuable feedback to our research and development team, Orlando Orthopaedic Center has helped us build an even better solution for our customers," said Garett Fortune, Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Workflow.com. "We are committed to providing an affordable solution that serves the clinical and business needs of our clients and success stories like this help demonstrate that we are on the right track."
