Barton Rural School has new fitness equipment, thanks to the efforts of eight-year-old pupil, Hannah Gudsell.
Hannah won a fitness kit for her school, and a mountain bike for herself, when she took part in the "Kids can do it Tryathlon" last month.
More than 300 children aged seven to 14-years participated in the event and while there were no individual awards handed out all the entrants names went into the draw for spot prizes.
It was Hannah's lucky day and she took home the major prize.
Health promoter Jane Sullivan presented the fitness kit, supplied by Community Public Health, at an assembly at the school yesterday.
Valued at $200, the kit contained mini hurdles, dodge balls, skipping ropes, cones, reactive balls and laminated fitness cards catering for both junior and senior school pupils.
