XLHealth Hires 42 in Tennessee for Its Medicare Health Support Pilot Program

BRENTWOOD, Tenn., March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- XLHealth announced today that it has hired 42 healthcare professionals in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Nashville and Memphis, Tenn., to support its recently launched Medicare Health Support pilot program. The expansion provides key medical and operations personnel to support each of the six program assessment centers, and further advances XLHealth as one of the nation's fastest-growing disease management companies and a leader in improving the quality of care for patients with chronic illness.

"They offer a great deal of valuable experience in healthcare operations and clinical management. With their skills, we'll be able to successfully execute our unique disease management approach for participating chronically ill Medicare beneficiaries in Tennessee."

The 42 individuals will fill a variety of management, clinical and administrative positions across multiple departments including operations, clinical program management, and provider services. New hires in each Tennessee market include:

Nashville

Rachel Haltiwanger serves as vice president of operations and will work out of the Medicare Health Support headquarters in Nashville. She has 25 years' experience in the healthcare industry with expertise in operations, financial management and strategic planning. Prior to joining XLHealth, she served as hub operations officer for CIGNA Healthcare's Atlantic region, where she was responsible for provider contracting data management, and as chief financial officer for Florida Health Choice, Inc., a non-profit managed care company in Delray Beach, Fla.

Judith J. Black, R.N., serves as program manager for XLHealth's Nashville assessment center, where she is responsible for the personal support teams assigned to each program participant. She has 15 years' experience in healthcare program management with expertise in disease management and quality improvement. Prior to joining XLHealth, she served as director of disease management for TennCare, Tennessee's health insurance program for Medicaid recipients and the uninsured, and as CIGNA HealthCare's Well Aware program manager. Black also has 15 years' clinical experience working as a registered nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Semmes-Murphy Clinic and Campbell Clinic in Tenn.

Memphis

Marcia A. Davis, R.N., M.S.N., F.N.P., serves as a program manager for XLHealth's east Memphis assessment center. She is a registered nurse with 24 years' experience in clinical and case management and comes to XLHealth from HealthEssentials Solutions, Inc., a provider of non-acute healthcare services to elderly patients, where she worked as an advanced practice nurse. Before that, Davis worked as a case manager for CIGNA HealthCare in Tenn.; Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.; and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

Martha C. Stewart, R.N., B.S., serves as a program manager for XLHealth's south Memphis assessment center. She is a registered nurse with 10 years' experience in a variety of hospital and managed care settings. Prior to joining XLHealth, she served as an inpatient case manager for CIGNA HealthCare in Tenn., and before that, as a nurse for Methodist Healthcare, a healthcare delivery system based in Memphis, Tenn.

Chattanooga

Donna Lee Ingram, B.S.N., serves as program manager for XLHealth's Chattanooga assessment center. She has 20 years' experience in case management, utilization review, worker's compensation, chart audits and geriatrics. Prior to joining XLHealth, she owned Peace of Mind Services, a life care planning and geriatric care management and healthcare advocacy company. Ingram also has worked as a legal nurse consultant with M&D Medical- Legal Consultants, and before that, as a case manager and nurse at various hospitals and insurance companies in Nev. and Tenn.

Knoxville

Lori Young, R.N., C.P.H.Q., serves as program manager for XLHealth's Knoxville assessment center. She has 18 years' experience as a registered nurse with a concentration in critical care. Prior to joining XLHealth, she served as a healthcare quality improvement coordinator and inpatient case manager for CIGNA HealthCare in Tenn. Young also has worked as a registered nurse at hospitals throughout Tenn., including Blount Memorial Hospital, and Baptist Health System of East Tennessee.
