Foundation Bariatric Hospital of Oklahoma has performed its first surgical procedure at the surgical hospital at 1800 S. Renaissance Blvd. in Edmond.
The surgical specialists include bariatric surgeons, plastic surgeons, gastro intestinal surgeons, physicians and anesthesiologists. The medical specialists include bariatricians, pulmanologists, cardiologists, internal medicine, pathologists and radiologists.
Our opening went extremely well thanks to the highly trained staff of our new facility, said Tammy Drum, chief nursing officer of the hospital.
Bariatrics is a field of medicine that offers treatment for an overweight person accompanied by various programs including diet and nutrition, exercise, behavior modification and lifestyle changes.
The 33,000-square-foot facility includes three operating rooms, 13 patient suites and two intensive care beds.
The hospital is in the former facility used by Renaissance Women's Hospital, a birthing center owned by Universal Health Services, based in King of Prussia, Pa.
Foundation Bariatric Affiliates, a wholly owned subsidiary of locally based Foundation Surgical Affiliates, purchased the building in September.

Posted by Susie Stone on 05/18/2007, 14:11 I am a hundred pounds overweight, have a bad back and back surgery a couple of years ago and still live in horrible pain. I would love to have a lapband done but my insurance has never paid for any weight problems. Today a friend insisted I ask you about this and see if you can solve this problem for me. |
