Pounds 27m Boost for Patients
March 30, 2006
PATIENTS in the most deprived areas of Scotland will benefit from a pounds 27million investment in health services.
Ten health boards will share the cash, which will be spent on 21 projects to upgrade facilities.
The projects include sexual health clinics in Glasgow’s Springburn, out-patient facilities in Dundee and new services in Irvine and Cumnock, Ayrshire.
The cash is part of a pounds 65million package announced by First Minister Jack McConnell last year.
Health Minister Andy Kerr said yesterday: “It is aimed at providing better and quicker health services for patients in their communities.”
