Rain Not Very Likely Until Friday: Threat of Fire Remains
By The Sun Herald, Biloxi, Miss.
Apr. 3–A lack of rain over the past month has NOAA urging Mississippians to be cautious regarding fire dangers in the state.
According to its Web site, winds will increase out of the west and northwest as a high pressure area builds. Winds can build 15 to 20 mph. Because of warm afternoon temperatures and the increased wind speeds, a marginal fire threat exists, NOAA warns.
Thunderstorms are expected to pass just north of South Mississippi today, with no rain expected until Friday.
High today near 82, the low overnight near 55.
