Unfortunately, spring and soccer season usually coincide with the onset of allergy season -- causing sneezing, runny noses and itchy, watery eyes for allergy sufferers on the field and in the stands. Many professional athletes who compete in outdoor events have allergies, and doctors say having allergies shouldn't prevent anyone from playing outside.
There is an easy way to relieve your worst allergy symptoms and be as alert and focused as someone without allergies. The key is to recognize the symptoms, take the correct dosage of medicine at the right time, and avoid triggers. Through August 15th, coaches and parents can enter their child's team in the "Kick It Clear With Claritin(R)" soccer clinic sweepstakes. U.S. Men's Soccer player Landon Donovan will fly out to the winning team to host a free, private soccer clinic to help them perform at their best this soccer season.
