Medical City Dallas Hospital Rolls Out Alert Service

Medical City Dallas Hospital has deployed a new medical alert system for its physicians.
The system which is built on the top of existing patient monitoring technology, can dispatch medical alerts directly to the nurse's wireless device using pre-defined priority and personnel rules.
In practice it means that when a patient alarm goes off, a message is immediately sent to the appropriate nurse's mobile phone, often accompanied by a screen capture from the monitoring device. If the primary nurse does not respond within three rings, that message will roll to the secondary nurse or to whomever the staff managers designate.
In addition to the alert service, the Clinical Safety System also collects and records all communications, creating a comprehensive audit trail of information to be used in hospital risk management.
