Apr. 21--As guest speakers talked up Community Hospital of Anaconda's new record-keeping system to a crowd in the hospital Thursday, the governor's dog, Jag, dozed on the floor nearby.
But when Gov. Brian Schweitzer took the floor, the black and white border collie stood up and began working the room, intermittently offering a paw for handshakes, sniffing pant legs and nosing people's palms to get strokes on the snout.
In a subsequent interview, Schweitzer said that the Lee Newspaper's December polls show the dog's approval ratings at 75 percent, with Schweitzer's following at 68 percent.
"I'm honored that I'm only a little bit behind Jag," he said.
