Health Enhancement Products Inc. (OTCBB: HEPI) today announced that it has filed an international patent application with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), relating to various methods of treatment using its phytopercolate, ProAlgaZyme. This application will be used to protect HEPI's worldwide rights relative to its ProAlgaZyme product. The patent application is for a method of treating or preventing a disease or disorder in a human by ingesting a phytopercolate, which is derived from mixtures including freshwater algae, in this case being ProAlgaZyme. There are several treatment aspects of this patent application, including methods of treating immune system deficiency, type I and II diabetes, diseases related to the heart, cancer, arthritis, and most other diseases related to a deficient immune system. This patent application incorporates data from various clinical trials conducted to date. The patent application is also directed to methods of weight control using ProAlgaZyme.
This patent filing is directed to the treatment of a variety of diseases including cardiovascular disease, and diseases related to immune system deficient disorders. The patent filing is also directed to methods of treatment for weight loss, inflammatory disorders responsive to COX-2 inhibition and glucose control. The phytopercolate is an enzyme complex derived from a specific combination of microorganisms including freshwater algae. As humans' age and chronic disease processes progress, a deficiency of the enzymes that carry out the body's waste detoxification and other processes may be experienced. A deficiency of enzymes can cause a chronic hyper-inflammatory state, and the disease process becomes much more complex. Without adequate enzymes in the body, the immune system and other metabolic processes become less efficient, making tissue repair slow and poorly replicated.
Howard R. Baer, CEO of Health Enhancement Products Inc., said, "Based on the preliminary results we have had with our various studies involving ProAlgaZyme, filing for this International patent application was important to protect, on a worldwide basis, methods of treatment using the product."
About Health Enhancement Products Inc.
Health Enhancement Products Inc. is a nutraceutical company engaged in the development of a supplementary health-enhancing product using only pure, all-natural ingredients. The company's sole product is ProAlgaZyme, a phytopercolate that is produced from an algae grown in 100% distilled water.
The algae from which ProAlgaZyme is derived produces a protein, most likely as a means of protecting itself from exposure to outside disease and harmful bacteria. The protein solution is then drawn off, filtered, tested and bottled for consumption. In addition to supporting a compromised immune system, recent clinical studies indicate that ProAlgaZyme has potential weight loss properties. ProAlgaZyme has also been shown in a clinical study to have the potential to improve serum glucose management, when combined with a diet low in refined carbohydrates and a light exercise regimen.
