Northeast Health Foundation Announces ''Care You Deserve'' Community Initiative
Posted on: Monday, 15 May 2006, 09:03 CDT
Northeast Health Foundation announced today the public phase of its Care YOU Deserve initiative, which aims to marshal community awareness and philanthropy to support Beverly Hospital, its physicians, and the other not-for-profit affiliates of Northeast Health System (NHS). NHS is a coordinated network of hospitals, physicians, outpatient services, senior health and behavioral health programs - all meeting the health and human services needs of the people of Massachusetts' North Shore communities.
"Care YOU Deserve seeks to raise community awareness of our high-quality, independent healthcare system," said Michael Valentine, president of Northeast Health Foundation. "Through stories from community residents and local business leaders, we hope to increase understanding of the significant value that Northeast Health System brings to the North Shore. These benefits include convenient location, the relationship between our physicians and their neighbors, lower costs, and clinical excellence."
Community owned and operated, the non-profit NHS depends in part on gifts from North Shore businesses, neighbors, and friends to fund improved facilities and to obtain technology that is essential to high quality care. Via a new website www.CareYouDeserve.org, interested parties can find information about this initiative, as well as links to Beverly Hospital and the other NHS affiliates.
In the public awareness initiative, local North Shore residents will stress the importance of how contributing to NHS has a direct, tangible and positive impact in their communities. Patients who have received care at Northeast Health System's hospitals will share their stories of how a community-based healthcare network is not simply convenient - it saves lives.
Residents of the North Shore will learn about the important difference their gift makes in aiding NHS physicians, nurses and technicians to fulfill their mission of delivering first rate care in a community setting.
Beverly Hospital and other Northeast Health System affiliates such as Addison Gilbert Hospital and BayRidge Hospital have been recognized again this year as among only a handful of healthcare organizations in the nation to receive 100 Top Hospital designations by Solucient, the nation's leading source of information products for the healthcare industry. This marks the fourth time in six years Beverly Hospital has received the award. The philanthropic piece of the initiative - the bedrock of community institutions - will fund new technologies and facilities, such as an expanded Beverly Hospital, Addison Gilbert Hospital and a new outpatient care facility in Danvers.
