Local Visiting Nurses Get $38,000 Grant

May 16--A local visiting nurse group has received a $38,000 grant.
VNA Community Care Services Inc. will buy 10 additional telemedicine monitors with the grant from the Columbia Healthcare Foundation
The monitors will be used by patients receiving VNA services and living in the Columbia and Marietta areas. In all, the VNA has 70 monitors for use by county patients.
The monitors can check daily vital signs and transmit them via satellite to a health practitioner.
