Health Net Federal Services Hires Government Relations Executive for Policy, Strategy; Federal Services Team Welcomes Donna Hoffmeier

Health Net Federal Services (HNFS), the government operations division of Health Net, Inc. (NYSE:HNT), announced today that Donna L. Hoffmeier has joined HNFS as vice president of Government Relations - Policy and Strategy. The addition of Donna Hoffmeier to the management team allows Health Net to work more closely with its government partners to address issues critical to providing effective and affordable health care services to military members, veterans and their families. Hoffmeier will be located in Health Net's Arlington, Va., office and report directly to Steve Tough, president, HNFS.

Hoffmeier has had an established career working health care issues in both the private and public sectors. She served in various government affairs and strategy roles at UnitedHealth Group, including vice president, Public and Government Affairs, and most recently, as vice president of Government and Public Sector Strategy for UnitedHealth's specialty business division. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Hoffmeier was president of a consulting firm that provided government relations, strategic planning and communications consulting services to a variety of companies providing health care related services to the federal government.

Previously, she directed the government affairs program for United Concordia Companies, Inc., and was the Washington representative for its parent company, Highmark. Hoffmeier also worked in the public sector for more than 15 years, including five years of congressional staff service, where, as a professional staff member for the House Armed Services Committee, she was responsible for evaluating and developing policy and legislation affecting the Military Health System. As a public affairs officer in the U.S. Navy, she served on active duty for 10 years.

Hoffmeier earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications cum laude from the University of South Florida.
