Premier Inc. And the Society for Health Systems To Jointly Offer Labor Benchmarks; Premier Products Will Allow SHS Members Access to Labor Benchmarks for Peer Comparison

The Premier Inc. healthcare alliance and the Society for Health Systems (SHS) have signed an agreement to jointly offer a new labor benchmark tool, allowing all SHS members the ability to access key labor indicators on a yearly basis.

SHS will also feature Premier's Operations Advisor labor management database to its members, as well as offer several operational scorecards to allow members to compare their operations with key metrics.

In addition, Premier and SHS have agreed to co-promote the services of each others' organization. Each institution will provide access via its Web site to the other organization's site, and each will participate in the other's annual conferences, along with additional activities. Premier will also support expanding industrial engineering in healthcare by increasing content available to SHS members.

"Premier and the Society for Health Systems have a common interest in helping hospitals operate in a safe, efficient manner," said Jim Benneyan, president of the Society for Health Systems.
