BioCare to Present at Medtech Insight and Windhover Information's ''In3 Medical Device Summit'' Conference, June 21-23, 2006 in San Francisco, CA

Posted on: Thursday, 8 June 2006, 15:00 CDT

BioCare Systems, Inc. will be presenting on Thursday, June 22nd at 3:10 P.M. PT at Medtech Insight and Windhover Information's "In3 Medical Device Summit" Conference, June 21-23, 2006 at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco, CA.

Located in Colorado, BioCare Systems, Inc. (BioCare), designs, develops and markets new and innovative health-care devices to decrease pain, accelerate healing and improve quality of life. BioCare is a leader in the application of solid science, marketplace knowledge, and the ability to mainstream complex clinical technology into affordable, effective, portable and easy-to-use products.

BioCare recently announced that the company has received FDA clearance for its LumiWave(R) infrared-light therapy device for the temporary relief/reduction of minor pain or discomfort associated with muscles (including neck and back pain caused by muscle tension), joints, arthritis, sprains and strains. The company also announced that a group of well known orthopedic clinics has expressed interest in developing a multi-center clinical research study to determine LumiWave's effectiveness in treating more advanced indications such as healing bone fractures. The trial is scheduled to begin this summer.

LumiWave is a non-surgical, deep-tissue, infrared-light therapy medical device designed as an over-the-counter product for consumers to use in the home. Predicated upon the proven science and therapeutic application of photobiostimulation (using light to stimulate natural biological processes in the areas where it is applied), the LumiWave is now being manufactured in quantity and is available for purchase on BioCare's website (www.biocaresystems.com).

LumiWave's patented technology uses Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) to deliver therapeutic levels of infrared light energy directly through the skin and into the affected area to temporarily reduce pain. In its current configuration, LumiWave's light weight, comfortable fit, durability and portability, along with its optimal power-emission rate, light-source wavelength and dosage duration, make it as effective, less costly and potentially safer than treatment patients might receive in professional or clinical settings. Unlike many common pain medications, LumiWave has no known side effects.

"LumiWave is the newest in our line of medical devices to receive FDA clearance," said Sherry Fox, BioCare's president and CEO. "Its improved design and function make it comfortable and easy to use just about anywhere in the home or office. The short treatment time of just five minutes, twice per day, adds to its convenience."
