Fitness Video Queen Leslie Sansone, Celebrating 20 Years and $200 Million in Sales, Launches '5-Mile Walk at Home With Leslie Sansone' DVD

Posted on: Tuesday, 13 June 2006, 09:00 CDT

NEW YORK, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- While America is increasingly growing out of shape in record, epidemic numbers, a health fitness video queen has stepped up to meet the challenge and has launched a workout that allows people to exercise at home and walk their way to weight loss.

Leslie Sansone is celebrating 20 years and 200 million dollars in sales of her workout videos by introducing, "5-Mile Walk at Home with Leslie Sansone" on DVD. Her legion of fans, which made her the top-selling fitness video champ in 2004 (USA Today), demanded a boost from her earlier videos that featured a 4-mile workout.

"Despite hundreds of fad diets and get-thin quick schemes, the only real way to be fit is to exercise and maintain a balanced diet," says Sansone. "And the best way to lose the weight and keep it off and to create a healthy body and mind is to walk."

Fitness instructor Sansone has helped millions of people walk their way to healthier lifestyles. "I'm into waist management," says Sansone. "Just reducing the waist by one inch can improve your health."

Traditional leaders in the fitness industry encourage the use of gimmicky exercise equipment, popping unproven supplements, or joining expensive, crowded fitness clubs. However, Sansone's simple approach to health begins with your own two feet -- and it can be managed from the privacy of your own home.

"The workout is convenient because you can do it when you travel from your hotel, it can be done any time of day or night, and it can be done regardless of weather conditions, " notes Sansone.

Her new video boosts your walk workout to the next level. Walkers will find Sansone ramps up her workout with a faster pace, exciting new moves, and toning exercises that will slim legs, tighten triceps, flatten tummies, and reduce inches off the waist.

Here's what the workout consists of: Mile 1: Speed walk for 14 minutes using Leslie's new "booster" 2-pound soft-hand weights. Mile 2: Speed up to a fast pace -- a quick 12-minute mile. Mile 3: Super-boost this mile with the "Walk Belt," firming the waist and upper body. Mile 4: Walk like a runner for a speedy 12-minute mile. Mile 5: Finish with a 12-minute mile using the stretchy, toning "Firm Band."

Sansone, whose recent book was published by Time Warner Book Group (Leslie Sansone's Eat Smart, Walk Strong: The Secrets to Effortless Weight Loss), counts many supporters in her corner, including the father of the aerobics movement, Dr. Kenneth Cooper. As the founder of Aerobics Research Center, he says: "I hope the American people listen to what you and I are saying."

We can't afford not to! In fact, in response to the needs of the community, Sansone has also launched videos to address the needs of children (Kid's Walk: Start Walking with Leslie Sansone) and diabetics (Walk Down the Blood Sugar at Home with Walk Expert Leslie Sansone).
