Glenbeigh Hospital and Outpatient Centers Forges Relationship With Stan Hywet Gardens

ASHTABULA, Ohio, June 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Like 15 to 22 million other Americans, "Jim" had a drinking problem. Fortunately, he also had a loving family that recognized the dangerous path he was following and begged him to get help.
One of the premier chemical dependency treatment hospitals in the Midwest happened to be practically in Jim's back yard in Northeast Ohio - so he checked himself into Glenbeigh Hospital of Rock Creek, Ohio, and began a recovery program that changed his life, and his family's.
Treatment at Glenbeigh Hospital and Outpatient Centers is based on the famous "12-step program," which is also the basis of the Alcoholics Anonymous organization. After successful therapy at Glenbeigh, Jim continued with his recovery program by attending local weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. He knew that Glenbeigh and AA had saved his life, and the link between those organizations enabled him to assimilate back into his daily routine after being released from the hospital.
An exclusive five-year relationship between Glenbeigh and Stan Hywet Gardens, the birthplace of AA, will continue the tradition of helping people like Jim achieve sobriety.
Glenbeigh and the Gate Lodge on the Stan Hywet Gardens grounds have been monumental forces in the recovery process for individuals and their families. The foundations of the AA program were developed during a gathering at The Gate Lodge at 70 years ago. The new relationship will allow both organizations to continue to be a source of inspiration and a call to action for those suffering from addiction, like Jim.
Not only does 2006 mark the 70th Anniversary of Alcoholics Anonymous, it is also the 25th Anniversary of Glenbeigh.
To help celebrate these milestones in chemical dependency treatment, Glenbeigh recently broke ground on its second expansion in just two years, proof that high quality, effective chemical dependency treatment is much needed in our country. In 2004, Glenbeigh added 15 inpatient beds and expanded the family room, group rooms, dining area and counselor's offices. The 2006 expansion will include 12 beds for women, 13 beds for men, a new fitness facility, a meditation area, an education center, additional parking and a new front entrance and lobby.
According to Glenbeigh CEO Pat Weston-Hall, "While unfortunate, the reality is that a growing need exists for both inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment facilities. These expansions signify Glenbeigh's commitment to treating those adults with chemical and alcohol addictions by offering them a better way of life."
Since its opening in May 1981, Glenbeigh Hospital of Rock Creek has focused on a single mission: providing the highest quality of care and service to adults with chemical and alcohol dependency problems and their families. Glenbeigh, a not-for-profit specialty hospital, offers the full continuum of care for adults with chemical and alcohol dependency problems and has successfully guided thousands of men and women back to productive and sober lives.
In 1995, Ashtabula County Medical Center purchased Glenbeigh Hospital of Rock Creek and the Glenbeigh Outpatient Centers, which are located in Beachwood, Niles, and Rocky River, Ohio and in Erie, Pennsylvania. Glenbeigh Hospital is located on eighty acres in a rural setting that provides a serene atmosphere conducive to healing and growth.
