Jeff Peterson Named President of Abbott Northwestern Hospital

Allina Hospitals and Clinics announced today that Jeff Peterson will be the new president of Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn., effective Sept. 1.
Peterson is currently the president and chief executive officer of St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. St. Vincent is the critical care regional referral center for the Mercy Health Partners System, a seven-hospital system serving patients from northwest Ohio to southeast Michigan.
Before serving as CEO at St. Vincent, Peterson was executive vice president and chief operating officer of the institution. Prior to his work at St. Vincent, he served as metro vice president of Professional Services and vice president of Clinical Services at Mercy Health Partners; and executive vice president/chief operating officer at Battle Creek Health System in Michigan. His health care experience also includes leadership roles at the Good Samaritan Hospital and Health Center in Dayton, Ohio, and the Charles H. Huber Health Center in Huber Heights, Ohio.
According to Ken Paulus, chief operating officer for Allina Hospitals & Clinics, the physicians and hospital leaders who participated in the interview process were all impressed by his skills.

Peterson has a master's in Hospital and Health Administration from the University of Iowa and a bachelor's in Business from Western Michigan University. He is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Rotary International, the Boy Scouts of America, the University of Iowa Healthcare Administration Alumni Program, and the Life Connection of Ohio, an organ procurement agency.
