Clinical IT company eClinicalWorks and the Massachusetts Medical Society have entered into an agreement to help physicians implement electronic medical records in their practices.
As part of the agreement, Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) member physicians can streamline their front to back-office operations through eClinicalWorks' electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management (PM) system, and can choose between the application service provider (ASP) or the client/server model. Access to the eClinicalWorks' web-based patient portal will also be offered.
"Electronic medical records can benefit all of our members, whether they care for patients in large or small practices. Through eClinicalWorks, our members can obtain an integrated EMR and practice management solution for any size practice," said Kenneth Peelle, president of MMS.
By working with eClinicalWorks, MMS members will be able to streamline internal processes, including scheduling appointments, creating electronic medical records, and billing. This allows healthcare providers to spend more time with patients and less on administrative duties, in addition to increasing patient data quality.
The accompanying patient portal feature allows patients and physicians to communicate securely over the internet for routine information such as appointments, lab results, and statements.
