Posted on: Tuesday, 18 July 2006, 12:00 CDT

Caliber, an ICF International company, announced today that Dr. Laurie May joined the firm as a senior vice president to lead the firm's health care business, bringing with her more than 20 years of experience overseeing health care consulting. In her role at ICF, Dr. May will be responsible for public health and health care policy. She will assist government and health care clients to more effectively organize, manage, finance, and deliver high-quality and cost-effective health care. She will also focus on projects involving family and social welfare issues, working to improve individual health and well being.

"Dr. May's unique perspective on an assortment of health-related topics including quality-of-care, long-term care, and health care economics make her an indispensable addition to the ICF team, contributing to the firm's ability to support our clients' goals in making informed health policy decisions," says Gerald Croan, executive vice president, ICF Caliber.

Prior to ICF, Dr. May was the Director of the Health Care Programs at CNA Corporation (CNAC), where she managed numerous projects in health care. Dr. May directed a number of large-scale health care studies, including the four-year evaluation of the TRICARE demonstration project, which was the U.S. Department of Defense's (DOD) test of its managed care initiative. Most recently, she was awarded a US$6.1 million project by the U.S. Veterans Disability Benefits Commission (VDBC) to examine the appropriateness of the current veterans' disabilities compensation system.

"It is invigorating to join a firm where I can apply my commitment to our nation's public health care policy, helping to lay the groundwork for positive health care programs and promoting population health," says Dr. May.
