Makovsky + Company, one of the nation's leading independent global public relations firms, has been chosen by the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) to direct public relations for the 18th World Association for Sexual Health Congress. The gathering of 4,000 medical experts will be held April 15-19th, 2007 in Sydney, Australia.
WAS draws leading researchers from fields including sex therapy, urology, gynecology, psychiatry, and endocrinology. The 2007 congress, titled "Achieving Health, Pleasure and Respect," will combine new research in medical therapies with plenary sessions from international speakers, in addition to podium and poster sessions, interactive workshops and symposia. It is the key forum for health professionals and industry experts to meet and discuss upcoming approaches in medicine and communications.
"We selected Makovsky + Company owing to their expertise in specialty health and thought-leader facilitation," said Bruno Cohen, president, Regimedia, the US- and France-based medical and affinity-marketing communications company organizing the meeting. "Their agency had the right blend of scientific understanding, third-party advocacy liaison experience and a successful track-record in helping institutions and pharma companies convey their messages."
Gil Bashe, Makovsky Health Practice director, said, "For 30 years WAS has pioneered efforts to promote sexual health through education, science and public policy, earning recognition from the World Health Organization and UNESCO. Many personal concerns are difficult to raise initially and communications initiatives help consumers find the words to express themselves to their health providers."
