Dr. Harold Griffin Joins American InterContinental University - Houston Campus As President

HOUSTON, July 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Harold Griffin, a seasoned educator and leader, has joined American InterContinental University (AIU) to oversee expansion of the university in the Houston area.
"AIU-Houston is the best kept secret in the Texas Gulf Coast region," said Dr. Griffin. "We intend to move quickly and aggressively to make our excellent educational opportunities well known to all."
Dr. Griffin comes to AIU from a local competitor, where he previously served as Dean. He holds a Ph.D. in Human Services, with a specialization in Health Care Administration and an M.B.A. in Finance from Capella University, as well as an M.A. in Health Services Management and Public Administration from Webster University.
Dr. Griffin's previous academic career has included teaching posts at public and private, non-profit and for-profit institutions of higher learning. While Director of Graduate Programs in Health Administration, for a local university, he oversaw that department's growth to the 10th largest program of its kind in the U.S. and Canada.
Before entering the higher education arena, Dr. Griffin spent 10 years in the armed forces as a healthcare manager and administrator. Most recently, he worked in management for a large Houston-based health system as System Director of Human Resource and Executive Director of that system's Center for Professional Excellence, an entity dedicated to advancing the art and science of nursing through leadership, development, and research.
