BELLEVUE, Wash., July 25 /PRNewswire/ -- LYNX Medical Systems (LYNX), a leading provider of emergency medicine documentation and revenue management solutions, today announced that an agreement had been reached with Memorial Hospital of Adel in Georgia. Through the agreement, LYNX will implement its E/Point Online outpatient facility charging software application to better align Memorial Hospital's facility resource utilization with patient acuity in the Emergency Department (ED). Currently, LYNX serves more than 300 healthcare organizations nationwide representing more than 12 million annual encounters.
E/Point Online is a standalone outpatient facility charging software program that will assist Memorial Hospital's ED staff record work performed during patient care for ED visits. The application automatically calculates the visit level for consistent, compliant and complete E/M charge assignment then extracts charges to the hospital billing or financial system. The hospital can also access financial and clinical data to better manage ED operations and patient care.
The software employs LYNX proprietary Outpatient Facility Charging Algorithm, which produces a visit level distribution and revenue that accurately reflects patient acuity mix and resource utilization in the ED. Utilizing the Microsoft .NET platform, E/Point Online is a browser-based application, employing smart client technology, which allows data to move with greater efficiency. Software implementation is faster and easier, and E/Point Online can be deployed without costly hardware requirements. Application updates are automatically performed when the user logs on, thereby eliminating time-consuming manual updates. A trial version of the application is available on the LYNX Web site at http://www.lynxmed.com/.
Memorial Hospital of Adel is one of seven community hospitals operated in four states by SunLink Health Systems, Inc. (SunLink) and the second hospital within the health system to implement LYNX E/Point Online. Memorial Hospital of Adel, in Adel, Cook County, Georgia, consists of a JCAHO accredited 60-licensed-bed, acute-care hospital, a 95-bed nursing facility, and operates a home-health agency.
