Lynx Medical Systems, a provider of emergency medicine documentation and revenue management services, is to implement its 'E/Point Online' outpatient charging software at the North Georgia Medical Center.
The software is designed to better align NGMC's facility resource utilization with patient acuity in the emergency department.
Currently, Lynx serves more than 300 US healthcare organizations, representing more than 12 million annual encounters.
E/Point Online is a standalone browser-based outpatient charging application that will allow NGMC's ED staff to record work performed during patient care for ED visits.
The software automatically calculates the visit level for consistent, compliant and complete E/M charge assignment, then extracts charges to the hospital billing or financial system. The hospital can also access financial and clinical data to better manage ED operations and patient care.
Lynx says that by using the Microsoft .NET platform, E/Point Online allows data to move with greater efficiency. Software implementation is faster and easier, and application updates are automatically performed when the user logs on, thereby eliminating time-consuming manual updates.
NGMC is one of seven community hospitals operated in four states by SunLink Health Systems, and the third hospital within the health system to implement Lynx E/Point Online.
