Oregon State Fair Celebration Oregon! Wine Awards and Tasting to Be Held August 25th

SALEM, Ore., Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- With fall quickly approaching, it is time to take advantage of the remaining warm Northwest days and nights. The Oregon State Fair is the perfect opportunity with 11 days of fun for the whole family starting August 25th. The Fair kicks off its first night of 2006 with the highly anticipated Celebration Oregon! wine awards and tasting festivity.

Celebration Oregon!, sponsored by Brainstorm NW, showcases the winners of the 2006 Oregon State Fair Professional Wine Competition including the coveted Best of Classification and Best of Show awards. This year's panel of judges for the competition was comprised of respected individuals in the wine industry including Cole Danehower -- Co-Publisher of Northwest Palate Magazine and Todd Rushing -- partner in 5 Atlanta restaurants.

Wine enthusiasts will enjoy sampling award-winning varietals from all regions of Oregon and the evening will be complete with hors d'oeuvres prepared by celebrated Oregon chefs. Members of the media, wine trade, and government representatives will be invited to attend the Awards Pre-Event at 5 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. for the general public.
