Revolution Health Group, the consumer-centric health company created by AOL Co-founder Steve Case, today announced an expansion of its senior management team.
Jay Silverstein joins Revolution Health as President of Coverage where he is responsible for the strategy, launch and execution of the company's innovative health care coverage, service and product offerings. Prior to joining Revolution Health, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Branding Officer for Health Net Inc. He has also served as Chief Marketing Officer at UnitedHealthcare and was the Chief Imagineer and one of the first executives at Oxford Health Plans.
Silverstein has more than 20 years of experience in the managed health industry and has developed a reputation as one of the industry's leading strategic and creative thinkers. He has played an instrumental role in the development of some of the most significant paradigm shifts in the sector, including the development of the Point-of-Service category, the integration of complementary medicine into mainstream insurance, the development of database driven preventive medicine, the launch of physician report cards and the elimination of medical necessity review.
Revolution Health has also added Simmi Singh as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Development. Singh is responsible for the development and integration of Revolution Health's strategy and vision within and across the company's portfolio. Singh joins the company from Cognizant where she was Vice President and National Healthcare Practice Leader. In addition to stints on Wall Street, she has held senior management consulting positions at Booz, Allen & Hamilton and Ernst & Young and previously served as senior advisor to a $4 billion business segment at a Fortune 100 insurer.
With 19 years of leadership and operational management experience in the health industry and financial sectors, Singh is a recognized thought leader on globalization and consumerism and how these mega-trends are changing the face of the industry. Singh is a winner of numerous leadership awards for contributions to the healthcare sector and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS). She is a frequent speaker at national industry forums and her written work is often cited and published.
"Jay and Simmi bring a wealth of experience to Revolution Health and will play an integral role in building our business over the long-term," said John Pleasants, chief executive officer of Revolution Health Group. "We are looking forward to their leadership and contributions as we continue to move the healthcare industry toward a system that encourages prevention, wellness and health management."
Revolution Health Group
Revolution Health Group was established in July 2005 to create the leading consumer-centric health company. One of three business groups in the Revolution LLC family of companies, Revolution Health empowers consumers by putting them at the center of the health system, building innovative health-related companies through investments, acquisitions and partnerships. Revolution Health's strategy is to create businesses and products that provide greater consumer choice, control and convenience in three key healthcare sectors affected by the rapid growth of the Internet, and defined-contribution health plans: content, coverage, and care.
