Yale New Haven Health System Will Use Solution to Connect EMR Application Into Existing e-Health Interoperability Exchange(TM)
Healthvision, a leading health information technology company, announces the implementation of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Interoperability Solution, version 1.1 at Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS). This innovative solution brings important connectivity features and functionality to healthcare organizations that are creating Connected Healthcare Communities across the United States. This release of EMR Interoperability adds key integration functionality, including support of Continuity of Care Record (CCR) data standards, to health information exchange (HIE) organizations, including health systems and regional health information organizations (RHIOs). The solution enables physicians and other care providers to share clinical patient information among the many stakeholder groups across the continuum of care.
Yale New Haven Health System will use Healthvision's EMR Interoperability Solution to connect their physicians' EMR application with their existing e-Health Interoperability Exchange run by Healthvision. Healthvision's e-Health Interoperability Exchange provides the overall technology architecture to support the transmission, collection, transformation and storage of data essential to a Connected Healthcare Community, and connects all of the stakeholders in the care delivery process. The new release allows YNHHS to send patient summary data, formatted within CCR standards, lab and radiology results, discharge summaries and transcribed reports to physicians using the system or directly into the physician's EMR.
"Healthvision's e-Health Interoperability Exchange has helped Yale New Haven Health System provide critical and timely patient health information to affiliated physicians for six years," said Scott Decker, president and CEO of Healthvision. "The rollout of the new release will help enhance the functionality of Yale New Haven's existing technology platform by integrating key ambulatory information from the existing EMR application."
"At all of the Yale New Haven Health hospitals, we continually look for ways to increase the quality and safety of patient care," said Mark Andersen, Senior Vice President and CIO of Yale New Haven Health System. "The addition of the EMR Interoperability Solution will help improve patient care and safety by ensuring physicians both at the hospital and in community offices have the most up-to-date medical records and key clinical information about patients in their care."
