China Medical to Announce First Quarter Financial Results for the Year Ending March 31, 2007 on August 17, 2006

China Medical Technologies, Inc. (the "Company") (Nasdaq: CMED), a leading China-based medical device company that develops, manufactures and markets high intensity focused ultrasound tumor therapy systems and advanced in-vitro diagnostic systems, plans to release its 1Q 2007 results at 6:00AM, Eastern Time, on August 17, 2006. The Company will host a conference call on the same day at 8:00AM, Eastern Time (8:00PM August 17, 2006 Beijing/HK time zone), to discuss the results.
For the conference call, Mr. Sam Tsang, Chief Financial Officer and Mr. Charles Zhu, Vice President, will review the results and take questions.
