Outpatient Imaging Affiliates, LLC ("OIA") today announced the opening of Florida Hospital Imaging, LLC, a joint ventured outpatient imaging center with Florida Hospital Memorial System, a division of the Adventist Health System, Inc. Florida Hospital Imaging is located in Ormond Beach, Florida and is opening August 14. In addition to being a joint venture partner, OIA was responsible for developing the center and will provide management, marketing and billing services to the joint venture under a long-term services agreement. The $10 million project is bringing the most advanced diagnostic imaging technologies to the area including PET/CT, MRI, CT, ultrasound, digital mammography, X-ray and DEXA services.
Suncoast Radiology, the area's most trusted and respected radiology group that services several Florida Hospital Memorial System hospitals, will provide professional interpretive services at Florida Hospital Imaging.
"In order to fulfill our mission of providing a full range of quality, customer-driven outpatient imaging services to area referring physicians and patients, we were fortunate to partner with OIA, a company that not only shares our values, but also has the outpatient imaging services reputation that gave us the confidence to proceed with this project in the face of many challenges found in this highly competitive area of health care," says Mike Gentry, President and CEO of Florida Hospital Memorial System when explaining his decision to partner with OIA.
"OIA is a company that has the potential to assist our management in developing a comprehensive outpatient imaging strategy throughout the Memorial System," Gentry continues, "We envision this as the first of potentially a number of centers that can increase our market share in this rapidly growing and increasingly important outpatient sector."
Frank Kyle, CEO of Outpatient Imaging Affiliates, noted that this agreement was exactly what he had in mind when he founded OIA in the fall of 2000. "OIA based its company's model from the outset on building relationships with strong local healthcare partners," states Kyle. "Rather than compete against local hospitals and radiology groups, our mission from the very beginning has been to work with local health care providers to provide the required expertise to recapture market share and improve the competitive positioning of our partners."
Headquartered in Nashville, TN, Outpatient Imaging Affiliates partners with healthcare providers, including academic teaching hospitals, hospital medical centers, and radiology practices to develop and manage outpatient diagnostic imaging and PET/CT centers on behalf of its joint ventures. In addition to Florida Hospital Memorial System, OIA owns an interest in and operates outpatient imaging centers joint ventured with many leading healthcare providers including, among others, The University of Virginia Health System, Thomas Jefferson University, The University of Texas - Houston, the University of Maryland Medical System, Meridian Health System and Deaconess Associations. OIA has operations in Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
