American Health Receives URAC Reaccreditation for Utilization Management
Posted on: Monday, 21 August 2006, 09:01 CDT
American Health Holding, Inc., a multi URAC accredited medical management company, today announced URAC's renewal of accreditation for their Utilization Management product. The URAC accreditation process demonstrates a commitment to quality services and serves as a framework to improve business processes by benchmarking organizations against nationally recognized standards.
"American Health not only recognizes the importance of having industry standards, but strives each day to set the highest standards, both internally and externally," states CEO Michael Reidelbach.
American Health's Utilization Management product determines the necessity of medical services. The clinical professionals providing American Health's Utilization Management services use established medical guidelines to evaluate the medical necessity for hospitalizations and outpatient services and the appropriateness of the overall treatment plan. Their programs combine the expertise of registered nurse reviewers, a board-certified team of Medical Directors, and a panel of board certified, practicing consulting physician reviewers to help direct patients and their providers towards the most cost effective, quality treatment available. American Health's own state-of-the-art computer system streamlines the utilization review process. The system was designed to facilitate all of the steps in the utilization review process -- from initial patient or provider contact, through evaluation and recommendation, culminating with discharge planning.
"We applaud American Health Holding, Inc. on achieving URAC Utilization Management reaccreditation," said Charles Stellar, URAC Board Chair. "In today's health care market, URAC accreditation provides a mark of distinction for organizations to demonstrate their commitment to quality health care."
