Patient Care is Focus of ABMS/ACGME Joint Conference

EVANSTON, Ill., Aug. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Assessing and Improving Patient Care, the sixth annual joint conference on the core competencies presented by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), will be held Nov. 2 and 3, in Rosemont, Ill., near Chicago's O'Hare airport.
The 1-1/2 day event will feature noted healthcare professionals who will focus on assessing and improving the quality of patient care provided by residents in training and physicians in practice. The topics and speakers include:
* The Quality Gap by Elizabeth McGlynn, Ph.D., M.D., RAND Corporation; * Assessing Patient Care panel session with Diane M. Hartmann, M.D., University of Rochester School of Medicine and F. Daniel Duffy, M.D., American Board of Internal Medicine; * How Literacy and Communication Initiatives Improve Patient Care by Darren A. DeWalt, M.D., MPH, University of North Carolina and * Models for Improving Patient Care panel session with Ed H. Wagner, M.D., MPH, MacColl Institute for Healthcare Innovation and Charles M. Kilo, M.D., MPH, GreenField Health.
