Turn Your Goals Into Reality With the 'You Can Do It!' Plan

Posted on: Tuesday, 22 August 2006, 15:00 CDT

CHICAGO, Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Bally Total Fitness and Fitness magazine have joined together for the 2006 launch of "You Can Do It!" makeover, a program that encourages people to set goals for living a healthier, happier life and empowers them to achieve their goals during a 60-day program. The plan centers around the idea that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to and enables readers to stop talking about their goals and start putting them into action. The "You Can Do It!" plan launches in the September issue of Fitness magazine and online at fitnessmagazine.com in August.

As part of the partnership, Bally and Fitness will host "You Can Do It!" makeover events at five key Bally locations on September 30, 2006. The "You Can Do It!" events will offer participants the knowledge, tools and support they need to jump-start the challenge, supplementing the tools and information available online at fitnessmagazine.com . Activities will include free fitness assessments, special "You Can Do It!" group exercise classes, nutrition and fitness advice from Bally experts and other wellness offerings including massages, goodie bags from program partners and more. In addition, all participants will receive a 30-day guest pass to Bally Total Fitness, a coupon for a free 30-minute personal training session and a free 30-day trial to Ballynutrition.com , an online nutrition resource that provides daily food logs, meal plans, nutrition tips and more.

Events will be held on Saturday, September 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the following clubs:

* NEW YORK -- Penta -- 139 W 32nd Street, New York, NY * CHICAGO -- Webster Place -- 1455 W Webster Avenue in Lincoln Park (Clybourn & Webster), Chicago, IL * LOS ANGELES -- Long Beach -- 4438 E Pacific Coast Hwy (at Ximeno), Long Beach, CA * WASHINGTON D.C. -- Pentagon Square -- 1201 S Joyce Street, Arlington, VA * BOSTON -- Cambridge -- 1815 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA

"Whether you strive to eat healthier, lose weight, get more sleep or simply take more time out for yourself, the key is to identify your goals and start taking steps to achieve them," said Lauren Buerger, publisher of Fitness magazine. "The 'You Can Do It!' makeover helps people do just that, by providing an avenue to help guide you from goal to reality. We are excited to have Bally Total Fitness as a partner and look forward to a successful kick-off to the program."

In addition, Bally Total Fitness will offer a FREE 60-day trial membership to anyone who visits a Bally Total Fitness location September 8-10. Two-week passes will also be offered to anyone who signs up for the "You Can Do It!" makeover online at http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/ .

According to Jim McDonald, chief marketing officer for Bally Total Fitness, "Helping people get results with a total approach of fitness, nutrition and expert help is our business, which makes this partnership a natural fit for us. We understand how important it is to set goals and take the first step towards living a healthier lifestyle and are excited to work with Fitness magazine to encourage and support people taking part in the 'You Can Do It!' plan."

In addition to the five flagship events, all Bally Total Fitness locations will support the "You Can Do It!" plan September 30, by holding "You Can Do It!" program exercise classes, offering nutrition and fitness advice including the complimentary 30-day guest pass, 30-minute personal training session and a 30-day trial to http://www.ballynutrition.com/ .
