QCSI(R) (Quality Care Solutions Inc.), a leading provider of advanced information technology and enterprise application software and services for health insurers and benefits administrators, announced today a strategic partnership with RxEOB, LLC (RxEOB), a leading developer of consumer-directed pharmacy benefit tools for health plans, employers and third-party administrators (TPA). This partnership will provide users of QCSI's QNXT Case Management and QCSI's MyHealthBank Consumer-Directed Healthcare (CDH) products with access to RxEOB's sophisticated Pharmacy Benefit and Cost Management System, which helps health plan sponsors and their members lower prescription drug costs and maximize the value of the pharmacy benefit plan.
The planned integration of RxEOB's products with QNXT Case Management will provide clinical support staff with tools to quickly and easily identify high-risk patients by querying the pharmacy claims data through customized filters. Managers can review patient-specific information to monitor drug utilization and compliance with prescribed drug therapies. Users can also conduct online research regarding available therapeutic options and related patient costs.
Through the MyHealthBank portal, members can manage their medical benefits, cash accounts, and with this planned integration, their pharmacy benefits using RxEOB's versatile tools. In addition to tracking their specific pharmacy data, RxEOB will allow members to compare drug prices, educate themselves on drug side effects and interactions, as well as identify potential alternative drug therapies that they may want to discuss with their physicians.
"QCSI's advanced technologies and product architecture are a natural fit with RxEOB's Web-based system, and our planned integration will deliver a powerful package for more effective healthcare administration," said Robert Oscar, CEO of RxEOB. "With the cost of prescriptions increasing every year, RxEOB's Pharmacy Benefit and Cost Management System will give health plan case managers and CDH customers tools to make better informed decisions, help them control costs and boost customer awareness."
Dave Engert, president and CEO of QCSI, stated, "Most healthcare consumers in the U.S. are not aware of how much prescription drugs really cost, with their exposure primarily being with co-payments instead of actual cost. As part of QCSI's ongoing commitment to provide the leading integrated solution for enterprise care management, our partnership with RxEOB will help our customers deliver high value to their members/consumers by enabling them make more informed decisions about prescription medication."
RxEOB's patent-pending Pharmacy Benefit and Cost Management System helps health plan sponsors and their plan members to lower prescription drug costs and maximize the value of the pharmacy benefit plan. The RxEOB system modules provide targeted decision-support information to critical health plan functions. The system includes: Plan Modeling Module, Member Module, Administrator Module, Data Manager Module, Customer Service Module, and Care Manager Module.
