The Hospital Council of Northern and Central California (Hospital Council) is pleased to announce that Lynne Ashbeck will join the Hospital Council as the new Regional Vice President for the Central Valley, effective Wednesday, September 13, 2006.
Ashbeck's work experience includes the Dairy Council of California, Children's Hospital Central California, and most recently California State University -- Fresno. Ashbeck currently serves on the Clovis City Council. She holds an M.S. degree in Nutrition, is a Registered Dietitian and a trained mediator.
"Lynne possesses the right combination of skills and experience needed to lead collaborative efforts between hospitals and the community to address the major health delivery issues facing the Central Valley," said Art Sponseller, President/CEO of the Hospital Council.
The Hospital Council's purpose is to help member hospitals to provide high-quality health care and to improve the health status of the communities they serve. The Hospital Council is a nonprofit hospital and health system service organization established in 1961, representing 190 hospitals in 50 of California's 58 counties -- from Kern County to the Oregon border. The Hospital Council's membership includes hospitals and health systems ranging from small, rural hospitals to large, urban medical centers, representing more that 37,000 licensed beds.
Hospital Council services are delivered geographically through sections, each with specially designated staff. This structure provides members with opportunities to pursue common goals and efforts that may be county-specific and/or regional in nature. Section meetings are held on an ongoing basis where groups of hospitals in one or more counties meet to develop and implement solutions for local issues. Ashbeck will serve as association staff and media contact for Fresno, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mono, San Luis Obispo and Tulare counties.
The Council promotes cooperative efforts and actions among members to enhance the cost effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of health care delivery in the community. You can learn more about the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California on its website: www.hospitalcouncil.net.
