Access Express Will Link Participating Community Primary Care Physicians and Medical Clinics with Specialists, Inpatient and Outpatient Facilities at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center
Health Access Solutions, the software marketing division of Pacific Partners Management Services, Inc. (PPMSI), today announced that Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) has selected their web-based Access Express(tm) software to automate health system managed care communications. Beginning next month, Access Express will manage and track authorizations and referrals for 60,000 Valley Health Plan HMO members and 200,000 additional SCVMC patients covered by public programs or private insurance. This extends the existing business relationship between Valley Health Plan and Pacific Partners Management Services, Inc.
Health Access Solutions now provides web-based software and support to 1.2 million health plan members and 200,000 additional SCVMC patients (either uninsured or covered under public or private programs). Access Express software supports TPAs, health plans, medical groups, IPAs, and now public health systems with innovative solutions to improve physician connectivity and with customer service that consistently exceeds expectations.
PPMSI Chief Executive Officer Larry Bonham, MD, says, "Santa Clara Valley Medical Center represents a whole new user base for Access Express, demonstrating its versatility and interoperability to provide valuable communications and medical management services to community health clinics, public health systems and Medicaid plans."
Adds Dr. Bonham, "Access Express will seamlessly interface with their EMR software (electronic medical record), enabling full transportability of patient files within a HIPAA-secure environment."
Dolly C. Goel, MD, Medical Director, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, says, "This October when Access Express is implemented, our staff anticipates streamlined communications among physicians and health system providers. The intensive case management tools will help manage high-cost patients who are uninsured or enrolled in publicly funded programs, as well as patients whose care is coordinated with their commercial health plans."
Dr. Goel continues, "We expect Access Express to complement our existing patient accounting strategies to better track the costs of care for patients who are uninsured and those enrolled in Medi-Cal, Healthy Families and Healthy Kids programs to help SCVHHS optimize government reimbursements."
Access Express interfaces with GE/IDX and Diamond, SCVMC's current IT vendors.
