The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) invites you to attend a news conference on September 27, 2006 to unveil The State of Health Care Quality: 2006.

This year's report answers key questions about the health care industry:

-- What is the cost - in lives and dollars - of persistent

quality gaps in the system?

-- Why don't some health plans publicly report their performance

data?

-- How are changing enrollment patterns affecting accountability?

NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations, recognizes physicians and physician groups in key clinical areas and manages the evolution of HEDIS(R), the tool the nation's health plans use to measure and report on their performance.

Presenters include:

-- Margaret E. O'Kane, President, NCQA

-- Linda M. Springer, Director, Office of Personnel Management

-- Ann Kempski, Director of Health Systems Policy, Service
