ParadigmHealth Adds Dan Sullivan, M.D. And Donny Huang, M.D. To Support Its Growing Complex Care Management Product

ParadigmHealth announced that Dan Sullivan, M.D. and Donny Huang, M.D. have joined the company as Medical Directors to support the ongoing growth of ParadigmHealth's Complex Care Management product. Dr. Huang will be based in Long Beach, California, to support ParadigmHealth's significant base of business and key health plan relationships in that State. Dr. Sullivan will be based in San Antonio, Texas, and support several clients nationwide.
ParadigmHealth's Complex Care product provides onsite care management for outlier patients who are often contractually excluded from typical care/disease management services and account for disproportionately large percentages of total health costs- those with late-stage cancer, multiple co-morbidities, end-of-life care issues, rare conditions and severe trauma. ParadigmHealth physicians, nurses, and specialists work with patients and their attending physicians to understand care options, make informed decisions, strengthen the patient-physician relationship, develop a personalized care plan and deliver the best possible clinical and personal outcome for the patient.
Drs. Sullivan and Huang will be responsible for ensuring high quality care management by providing medical expertise, acting as a key member of patients' ParadigmHealth care team, reviewing patients' personalized care plans, and communicating with patients' physicians, nurses or care providers.
Dr. Sullivan most recently served as Vice President of Health Services and Clinical Informatics at Amerigroup Corporation where he was responsible for the establishment of an information-based management strategy that included the selection and configuration of a sophisticated corporate-wide patient care and medical resource utilization management system. Prior to this, he worked for Health Net and PacifiCare and was the head of analytics and research at PCS Health Systems (now CareMark). In addition, he practiced as an internist in Wisconsin and New Mexico. Dr. Sullivan brings 19 years of industry and medical management experience, including the development and operation of case and disease management program, case management system configuration and clinical informatics. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and is a board-certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Sullivan also has a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
Dr. Huang will be joining ParadigmHealth as the company's first California-based Complex Care Medical Director. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, he began his career in a large private practice in general internal medicine, but also assisted in the care of patients with catastrophic injuries, including spinal cord injuries, brain injuries and severe trauma. Dr. Huang continues in private practice today, specializing in internal medicine, and provides both outpatient and inpatient care. He also continues to provide medical consultation for patients with brain and spinal cord injuries, brain tumors, orthopedic injuries, pre-operation needs and rehabilitation needs. Dr. Huang received his medical degree at the University of Chicago and went on to complete his training in Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.
"Both Drs. Sullivan and Huang have demonstrated a commitment to providing excellent patient care, and are well-focused on enhancing our Complex Care program through their individual areas of expertise," says Albert Holt, MD, ParadigmHealth's CMO for Complex Care.
