New Seasons Behavioral Health Care Systems (http://www.newseasonsrecovery.com), a cutting-edge treatment program for drug and alcohol addiction and psychological disorders, today announced that nationally known addiction expert Terry Eagan, M.D., has joined the organization as medical director.
Dr. Eagan, who also maintains a private practice in Beverly Hills, will oversee the development of programs and medical treatments for New Seasons' clients, and is spearheading the organization's outreach to the gay and lesbian communities. As one of the few drug and alcohol recovery programs to specifically target this population, New Seasons offers gay and lesbian clients a welcome, supportive environment, and in-depth understanding of their unique needs and challenges.
"Terry is an excellent addition to our team, and a perfect fit for the innovative programs we're incorporating into the recovery setting," said Steven M. Orenstein, MA, LMFT, and CEO of New Seasons. "Our clients are the main beneficiaries here - Terry brings to their recovery the highest caliber expertise, a caring heart and a passion for helping people overcome their addictions and get their lives back on track."
New Seasons is breaking new ground in its approach to recovery. Along with a full range of therapies and treatments for the body and spirit, New Seasons' holistic system helps clients retrain and optimize their brains through neurocognitive rehabilitation. Its method is unique in the recovery setting and was developed in conjunction with Crossroads Institute, a leader in developing programs for neurological-based issues.
"This is an exciting place to be," said Dr. Eagan. "New Seasons has taken some of the most groundbreaking techniques in therapy today - brain mapping and neurocognitive rehabilitation - and is applying these approaches to the drug and alcohol recovery setting. I'm thrilled to be part of this."
Dr. Eagan has been in private practice specializing in anxiety and depressive disorders for the last twelve years. He has extensive experience in working with complex patients at the extremes of celebrity, and is a highly respected lecturer, educator and healer. He's also noted for his clinical work in substance abuse, eating disorders and geriatric psychiatry.
Dr. Eagan is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. Since 1993, he has served as Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the University of Southern California School of Medicine.
New Seasons' neurocognitive rehabilitation is a process that involves treating the mind with technology that retrains aspects of impaired brain function, while treating the body and spirit with programs that incorporate nutrition, fitness, spirituality, massage, acupuncture, reflexology and more - for a holistic approach to recovery.
New Seasons was featured in the Sept. 19th episode of WE TV's "Secret Lives of Women." The show followed a wife and mother as she battled meth addiction and sought treatment from New Seasons.
