UnitedHealthcare and its transplant company, United Resource Networks, have reached new multi-year agreements with Froedtert & Community Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin. The new agreements mean that all UnitedHealthcare members will continue to have network access to affordable, quality health care services from Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa and Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls. The new multi-year agreements cover all commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid products.
The agreements with United Resource Networks are retroactive to September 1, 2006, ensuring continuity of coverage for transplant patients who were already receiving care through these facilities. The UnitedHealthcare agreement was reached a month in advance of the expiration of the contract and is effective as of November 1, 2006.
"This contract demonstrates UnitedHealth Group's long-standing commitment to working on behalf of consumers and employers to provide access to quality care at affordable prices, " said Jay Fulkerson, president and CEO of United Healthcare of Wisconsin. "We are pleased that, with these agreements, we can continue to provide our members with access to the most comprehensive network in Wisconsin."
