Philip Carey is making a triumphant return to One Life to Live on Friday after a hard battle with lung cancer.
Soap Opera Weekly reported that Carey, who has played Asa Buchanan for 25 years, received an outpouring of support from fans after the news of his cancer broke.
The fans have been just super, he said. There aren't many people there that I hang out with, but I heard from everybody. I didn't know I was that important!
As for Asa, the next few weeks on One Life to Live will prove straining as the villainous Spencer tries to prove he is Asa's son through a DNA test.
