SAN DIEGO and MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) today announced that it won a five-year, time and materials contract to provide lifecycle information technology support services to Health Resources and Services Administration's (HRSA) Office of Information Technology. In addition to the one-year base term, the contract contains four one-year options. If all options are exercised, the value of this contract is estimated at $33.9 million. This contract award represents a follow-on effort for a relationship that began between the parties in 1998.
The SAIC-led team will deliver Web and database application development for HRSA grant program systems in the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), the HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB), and the Bureau of Health Professions. These systems enable grantees and health care providers nationwide to report on performance of programs funded by HRSA grants. In addition, SAIC will provide subject-matter expertise to MCHB, assist with developing grant guidelines and performance measures, and provide direct help in the grant application processes. For HAB, additional SAIC services include statistical analysis and reporting of Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resource Emergency (CARE) Act data and outcomes.
"SAIC is honored that HRSA has selected us to continue to support their information technology needs," said Robert McCord, senior vice president and general manager of SAIC's Health Solutions Business Unit. "We are committed to helping HRSA address its most pressing IT requirements and use its health care and grant dollars most effectively."
Also included in the contract is the continued development of the Geospatial Data Warehouse, a publicly available Internet tool that provides a single point of access to HRSA programmatic information, health resources and demographic data. This tool promotes information sharing and collaboration and uses seamlessly integrated reporting and dynamic mapping tools to enable HRSA staff, health planners and policy makers to more easily determine where resources should be focused. Other work under the scope of this contract includes call center support and network services.
"We are very proud to work for HRSA, and are pleased that HRSA has rewarded our hard work with the award of this follow-on contract," said Larry Peck, SAIC president of the Enterprise and Infrastructure Solutions Group.
