Gateway Health Plan to Expand Medicare Approved Special Needs Plan, New Service Areas Approved in Pennsylvania and Ohio

PITTSBURGH, Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Gateway Health Plan, Inc. announced today that is has received approval from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to offer Gateway Health Plan Medicare Assured, a Medicare approved Special Needs Plan, in one new county in Pennsylvania and four new counties in Ohio with memberships effective January 1, 2007. Gateway Health Plan Medicare Assured is designed for beneficiaries who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid.
In addition to the 23 Pennsylvania counties that are currently part of the Medicare Assured service area, Gateway's expansion will introduce Gateway Health Plan Medicare Assured into the following new counties:
- Mercer County, Pennsylvania - Mahoning County, Ohio - Stark County, Ohio - Summit County, Ohio - Trumbull County, Ohio
