Police Looking for at Least One More Victim in Child Porn Case

Posted on: Wednesday, 25 October 2006, 12:01 CDT

TORONTO (CP) - Durham police suspect a man charged with almost 300 sex assaults against young girls over a 20-year period could have more victims.

And they are appealing to the family of one particular victim to come forward.

Now believed to be in her teens, the girl is among more than 10 girls captured on videotapes seized from the suspect's Whitby, Ont., home.

Det. Randy Norton is asking anyone who may have left their child in the suspect's care between 1998 and 2001 while she was five or six years old to contact police

The investigation is ongoing, but it appears now that the 100-plus hours of sexually explicit child pornography was for personal use and not distributed.

The bulk of the 282 charges against 39-year-old Michael Stratton are for sexual assault, making child pornography and forcible confinement.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 905-579-1520, ext. 5363.
