Hall of Fame golfer Mickey Wright Friday underwent breast cancer surgery at a hospital in Stuart, Fla.
Her longtime manager, Peggy Wilson, told the Palm Beach Post the 71-year-old Wright is doing fine.
They got her in surgery as quick as they could, Wilson told the newspaper. They're going to do a lumpectomy.
With 82 tournament victories, Wright is ranked second on the LPGA Tour all-time list.
She retired at age 34 in 1969 with 12 major event wins, and is the only player in tour history to hold all four major titles at the same time.
She won the Vare Trophy for low scoring average five times.
Fellow hall of famer Judy Rankin was diagnosed with breast cancer in May.
Patty Berg, who helped found the LPGA, died two months ago of Alzheimer's disease.
