November 1, 2006 - Dr. Terry Simpson, one of the leading LAP-BAND bariatric surgeons in the Western United States, is hosting a bariatric surgery seminar in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, November 4, 2006.
The seminar will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006 from 10:00am - 11:00am at the Omni Tucson Golf Resort at 2727 West Club Drive in Tucson. To register for this free seminar, visit www.azlapband.com or call 602.234.8995 ext. 105. Dr. Simpson, known by patients and industry peers as The Weight Loss Doctor, is the Managing Director of the Arizona Bariatric Center -- one of the largest bariatric surgery centers in the Southwestern U.S. His popular seminar series is held throughout Arizona and is in Tucson on a quarterly basis.
"I host these seminars regularly as a forum for connecting current LAP-BAND patients with candidates considering the procedure for themselves," said. Dr. Terry Simpson. "People tend to feel more comfortable in an educational environment with their peers, especially when considering something as life-changing as bariatric surgery."
The LAP-BAND procedure is a less-invasive bariatric surgery that uses a band placed where the esophagus and small stomach meet, essentially acting as a built-in 'portion control' mechanism thereby managing the patient's food intake, and allowing them to lose weight naturally and with nutritional balance. LAP-BANDs can be easily adjusted via a port inserted under the patient's skin. Saline injections into the port will cause the LAP-BAND to either expand or contract thereby resizing the pathway for food, and helping patients with portion management. The LAP-BAND is also 100% reversible.
"Most bariatric surgery candidates are reasonably well-informed about old technology like the Rouen-Y and other types of gastric bypass surgery. Because the LAP-BAND is the latest technology available for bariatric surgery candidates, folks tend to have more questions. My seminars provide an opportunity for surgery candidates to ask me and others who have had the procedure all the questions they wish," concluded Simpson.
